The players with a strong personality (Ronaldinho, Kaka) are missing and a young but extremely talented team will be tested in the brazilian stadiums, one year before the World Cup 2014 kick-off. Scolari will play 4-2-3-1 with Fred as a Poacher and Neymar, Oscar and Hulk playing as attacking midfielders behind him.

Del Bosque names Spain squad

Vicente Del Bosque named the provisional squad of Spain for Confederations Cup 2013, explaining the calls of Casillas, Torres and Martinez. Spain's coach admitted that it was impossible to fit all the suitable players in Spain squad for the forthcoming tournament, and tried to make the best choice for his country.

For Iker Casillas, who hasn't played for Real since January, he said: "We're certain he's in good form. We spoke in France and since then I haven't spoken to him, but I'm sure he is fine. He's one of us."

Brazil's squad for Confederations Cup 2013

Atletico Mineiro's Ronaldinho and Kaka are not included in Scolari's plans for Brazilian squad of Condeferations Cup 2013. Instead, Fred, Leonardo Damiao, Hulk and the new big signing of Barcelona, Neymar, will be the attackers of the team.

History of Confederations Cup

The Confederations Cup is a tournament for national football teams organized by FIFA. It takes place every four years, one year before the FIFA World Cup. Since 2005 the Confederations Cup is hosted by the country which also hosts the World Cup in the following year. There are eight teams in the competition: six of them are the winners of the six championships organized by FIFA (UEFA – the administrative body for association football in Europe, CONMEBOL – the administrative body in South America, CONCACAF – the administrative body in North America, Central America and Caribbean, CAF – the administrative body in Africa, AFC – the administrative body in Asia and OFC – the administrative body in Oceania), one of them is the winner of the previous World Cup and the eighth is the host country.

Confederations Cup 2013

The Confederations Cup is a tournament organized by FIFA and reuniting the previous World Cup winner and the six winners from the continental championships. The host country also qualifies automatically. Since 2005 the Confederations Cup takes place every four years, in the year preceding the World Cup and it is considered a rehearsal for the larger tournament. Confederation Cup 2013 in Brazil is scheduled to take place between the 15th and the 30th of June. Brazil, besides being the host country, is also the defending champions.
